Inspire Me

Having trouble discovering your muse? There are a lot of ways in which one might acquire inspiration. The steps one takes may be on as needed basis and may hinge upon a certain issue. Please read on to discover techniques for motivation:

  • Spend time praying or meditating in a calm place, clear your head of distractions, and discover what is really on your heart. Occasionally, during this time it's helpful to set aside any thoughts that might spring to mind.

  • Expose yourself to works by other people. This might include exposing yourself to the work of other people within your field or works away from your field. Try attending galleries, concerts, poetry readings, restaurants, movie festivals, craft shows. Remain inside, sip a cup of tea maybe, and browse creative fields on the net. Venture to a library and have a look at books of all sorts. Discover books that interest you, even if they seem to be unrelated for what you're needing inspiration, you may make a fresh connection of which you would not have differently thought. Listen to your preferred musical artists, or borrow the musical collection of an acquaintance, and research the unfamiliar.

  • Arise, and move around. Go for a walk-through town, metropolis, or country. Take a hike or go for a run. Think about doing these during the day and by yourself. Crystallize your mind and let it roam. You may carry a little notepad to put down any thoughts that come to you. If you happen to be alone with no one in view, or if you've no care for what other people think about you, do a few cartwheels or crank the iPod and dance around.

  • Be bold. Get that authoring/drawing utensil in your hand. Put down any thought that springs to mind, just get it out. Expand when no more thoughts come. Think about utilizing a medium that's out of your personal norm (chalk, colored pencils, crayons, paint) attempt adding color. Change up your surface; attempt utilizing your driveway (use chalk), get a hold of chart paper, sprawl out a big sheet of newsprint paper.

  • Discover a mentor or become one. Talk to trusted people in your field of interest. Discover what they've been up to lately. What is their freshest project? How did they stumble upon that theme? Do they have any advice for you? Tell them about your cutting-edge interests. Do they have any views about these?

  • Detach yourself from your project. Break loose from what you're trying to find inspiration on. Get out with acquaintances or loved ones. Do the usual: dinner and a flick, go clubbing, play a game. Do the strange: go canoeing, take a dance class, visit a zoo or museum, and watch a polo match.

Be willing to be open of the things that you are not used to before and with this you will find things that inspires you to do something out of the ordinary.

I hope today’s reading is inspiring you to do something out of your routine,

gay
